Facilitating learning and language processing

This is our initial and most fundamental area of expertise and R&D: Since early 1990 we have continuously been working on fundamental and truly innovative solutions to improve and facilitate learning and curricular success in children, youth and adults alike. In a number of studies we could repeatedly show the amazing success our method is able to facilitate (please review some of the publications in the research section of this website - please note that a lot of the initial publications are in German). One of the rather impressive success stories was a study conducted for the State of Thuringia by the Medical University of Hannover: Dyslexic children improved their writing scores in merely four months by 42.6 percent in average (based on the standardized writing scale DRT-3).

With recent access to fMRI it was even possible to show the effects of the training not only in reading and writing scores but also in the actual brain performance. In adults (with factual illiteracy) plastic changes in the brain's way of processing language related tasks could be proven and shown using fMRI brainmapping. Reading and writing skills improved by about 1.5 school years' worth in merely 7 months - something not accomplished by the entire school training these adults underwent in the childhood and youth.

We are not primarily addressing classic excercising or grammar / spelling training. It is our explicit goal to provide sophisticated brain training to lay the foundation for more successful, faster and lasting learning effects. The results of our research, conducted primarily by key reserach institutes and universities, clearly show that we are on the right path. The same holds true for our expert network of health care professionals who are using our method. We continue to be in close cooperation with expert researchers and pedagogical and health care institutions worldwide to improve and excel in our already established powerful training solutions.

The test protocol

Prior to training we recommend to conduct the test protocol for the Warnke method. With the test sequence we can analyze essential brain functions that facilitate and improve success in learning. Among other capabilities this includes spatial hearing, pitch discrimination, phoneme recognition also in noise. But also visual and motorical skills are continuously assessed and evaluated. With corresponding findings the results will always lead to very specific training recommendations which have been shown to be highly effective for many learners, both young and older.

Training solutions

The most significant elements of our training method are:

  1. Our low level training of key brain functions (such as processig speed in the auditory and visual domain and much more...) using the Brain-Boy
  2. Visual spelling memory - allowing clients to establish and improve clear visual images of the correct spelling of words in the brain, using our computer program Orthofix.
  3. Lateral-Training to improve and cross link key sectors in the brain and to facilitate language processing.
